| The TBird AVS
Series is an advanced ventilatory system for the ICU. It is designed to
move seamlessly with your patient throughout the acute care environment.
TBird employs advanced turbine technology in a compact, durable and
lightweight package, TBird AVS provides uninterrupted mechanical
ventilation for your critically ill patient. No longer do you need to
change ventilators as you move your patient to perform therapeutic or
diagnostic procedures.
PATENTED TURBINE
TECHNOLOGY
Unlike most ICU ventilator systems that
depend on an air compressor or a piped air system, TBird AVS is
self-contained. Its powerful turbine technology provides excellent gas
delivery without a need for a compressed air source. This turbine,
together with an internal and optional external battery, allows the
system to be completely independent and mobile. |

Patient
safety
The TBird AVS Series includes
important safety features:
- Apnea backup ventilation automatically
activates whenever patient apnea is detected.
- Internal battery provides emergency
power during temporary power outage, or battery power during short
duration transport.
- Optional external battery provides
additional backup and power for longer transports.
- Locking mechanism prevents accidental
changes to control settings.

ENHANCED
USER INTERFACE
The TBird AVS is designed with the user in
mind. The pressure manometer bar graph displays real time pressure
readings as well as high and low pressure alarm settings. Its
color-coded controls and displays are easy to read and set. Central
control knob provides one-button operation. |

FLEXIBILITY AND VERSATILITY
The TBird AVS provides the platform for all upgrades and future
enhancements Its unique design offers the clinician unmatched
flexibility:
- Upgrades can be completed in just minutes by simply changing a
Configuration Memory Card and front panel insert.
- TBird AVS has a
universal communications interface port to allow for the connection
of the Bird Graphics Monitor. It also features an Inspiratory Hold
and an adjustable Inspiratory Pause.
- TBird AVS II provides added
diagnostic features including a MIP/NIF (maximum inspiratory
pressure/negative inspiratory force) maneuver, as well as Expiratory
Hold used to calculate auto PEEP.
- TBird" AVS III incorporates
all of the available options including Pressure Control and Bird's
unique Volume Assured Pressure Support (VAPS).
