PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
Responsible for operating various CNC machines as required, and makes complete set-ups on assigned machinery. Provides help in improving productivity and quality of finished parts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs mechanical and nonmechanical tasks and/or change of workstations to handle temporary assignments.
- Uses CNC machines, machine standards, CNC manuals, blueprints, tools, fixtures, CNC programs and communicates with lead, supervisor and/or manager to complete complicated set-ups with CNC lathes and mills to design new CNC programs, in order to produce quality parts within machine shop standards.
- Completes machine shop routine reports for better understanding of work processes so that production capacity can be optimized.
- Uses blueprints, product specifications, standard jigs, fixtures and gauges to check production parts.
- Communicates with co-workers in order to better understand and resolve problems so that work can be completed within due dates and to produce quality parts.
- Receives instructions from and communicates with manager/supervisor/lead in order to fully understand the operation, machinery, fixtures, tools and CNC programs as needed to perform the task.
- Uses CA/OSHA safety standards, machine shop practices, containers, transportation carts, crane, machinery and tools in order to clean machinery chips so that the scheduled job can be set up.
- Communicates status of job and provides all documents to second shift operator or lead and/or manager/supervisor in order to produce quality parts within machine shop standard time.
- Uses operator's manuals, shop practices, lubricants and tools to perform standard maintenance to machinery in order to maintain equipment durability.
- Records all activity on the Maintenance form MS 9.11.1-1/MS 9.11.1-2.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School graduate or equivalent - CNC certificate a plus.
- Five years of practical experience on CNC machines.
- Able to do CNC programs, read and interpret detailed blueprints.
- Able to make complicated set-ups on CNC Lathe and Mill machine and operate Lathes and Mills.
