Duke University Medical Center offers critical care applications training to the 3100B High Frequency Oscillatory Ventilator for its use in adults and pediatrics. The course is designed to give each participant an understanding of HFOV physiology and its application in the pathophysiology of adult, pediatric and surgical patients. Nursing and respiratory care implications are covered as well. This is accomplished through didactic and group discussions as well as hands-on experience using appropriately sized laboratory models.
This program is designed to give each participant the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of the device and the technology; to gain working knowledge of the instrument in specific lung disease states and discuss the potential adverse reactions of the instruments use. In addition, upon completion, participants should have the preliminary tools necessary to develop a program with their own institutions.

Course: This is a 2-day course which combines didactic, lab, and clinical application. |

Location: The training class will be held at Hilton Durham and Duke University. |

Instructors: Instructors are from Duke University Medical Center and Carolinas Medical Center. |

Price: $1,000 (Tuition only). Includes all course materials, light breakfast and lunch during the training and transportation to/from local hotels to the University. |
